Poinsettia Power Marker Illustration

A number of years ago I bought a full pack of 10 gel markers. When I started using them, I discovered that some of them worked very fluidly and some of them seemed to have dried up during their time waiting on the store shelf, which was disappointing. Eventually I trashed the ones that didn’t work, and decided to use up the ones that were left, on a sheet of cold press watercolor paper. This is what happened:

The colors that worked, worked really well, so I’d consider getting individual markers of this brand in the future, but I might not get an entire set again – we’ll see!

It also looks great on a tile in a nice wooden keepsake box, and as a throw pillow for any season:

Celtic Avant Garde

This is one of my earliest Celtic pieces. I hand-draw all the knotwork and spirals, trace it in ink, then scan it into the computer, clean it up, and then finish all the coloring and textures in Photoshop.
